The MGHA Classic Tournament is hosted at the Verona Ice Arena, 451 E. Verona Ave., Verona, WI 53593, just south of Madison.
The Verona Ice Arena (Formerly Eagles Nest Ice Arena) is a Non-Profit facility that is operated by ICE, Inc. (a volunteer Board of Directors) and is managed by Executive Director, Joel Marshall, alongside Facility Manager Michael Ross.
Verona Ice Arena is home to two ice sheets: one NHL size and one Olympic size. The original ice sheet and arena were built in 1994. A second ice sheet was added and completed in December 2023. Both ice rinks have 4 multi-use locker rooms, designated high school locker rooms, and a designated locker room for girls’ & women’s teams, referee locker rooms, public bathrooms, heated seating area, and mezzanine & bar area. The House of Hockey Pro Shop is located in Rink 1. Both ice rinks have concession stands.
The arena serves all age groups from youths to seniors. Programs are provided in a variety of skill level from the Youth Hockey Leagues and the Learn to Skate program to our 50+ Senior Skating. The Ice Arena is the center of ice sport activity in the Southern Dane County area.
It is the home to the 2014 & 2020 D1 State Champion Verona Area High School Hockey Program, Verona Wildcats Youth Hockey Association, Madison Mavericks Girls Hockey, LEAD Hockey Summer Training and the Jr. Jets Spring Hockey Programs.
The arena is open 12 months a year and easily has over 100,000 spectators and participants every year.
Driving directions: The easiest way to get to the rink from most parts of Madison is to take the Beltline to exit 258 toward US-151 S/US-18 W. In about 4 miles, take exit 81 for Verona Ave toward US-18 Bus/US-151 Bus. Continue .8 miles to the ice arena. Turn left at the light at Heartland Credit Union/Culver’s.
Parking: Ample parking is available on site.

Locker rooms: Locker rooms are on the main level. Team assignments will be posted on the monitors. Please keep your locker room clean and make sure it is clean and all trash is picked up when the tournament is over.
Showers: Showers are available in the locker rooms, and are there for your use. Please be mindful that teams are mixed and be respectful of requests from your teammates regarding use of the showers.
Comfort: Be prepared for a cold rink. Bring a long-sleeved shirt, sweatshirt or warmup jacket to wear while socializing before and after games, or watching other teams play.
Storage: Locker rooms to accommodate all teams and players and an extra locker room available for storing equipment so you don’t have take it to the hotel.
Pucks: Pucks will be provided for warmups, you don’t need to bring any pucks onto the ice.
